Gel Plate Stripes!
Making fun stripes on the gel plate!
Hi Everyone!
It’s so good to be back and blogging again and sharing fun makes!
This project was super interesting to me. It was formed out of a need for some black and white paper that wasn't too busy but that was gel printed in order to coordinate with other gel print papers. And I'm in the middle of several projects on my tiny work table so it's a crazy but fun mess!
For the imprint, I actually have no idea what this is - it might be a sort of shelf or drawer liner - but it is plastic and the paint washed right off of it when I was done with this gel printing session - super cool!
I kept playing with this and had tons of fun making these really bold prints out of my black and white prints.
Sharing a video below to show the process.
Disclaimer - I'm super new at making and editing videos so please bear with me. I've also included several photos in this post to make up for missing shots in the video that I accidentally edited out. Also, please turn on some music because there is no sound on this one. I'm getting there!!
Hope you enjoy!
Tim Holtz Colorize Bloom
Hi Everyone,
This blog post will show you (and remind me) of the various papers I created for making all these cool flowers. So I’ll be adding to it as I try different things.
Also, since I’m doing more tutorials now, I’ll put more effort in taking better photos. In the past, they’ve just been for my reference.
attempt #1
The very first paper I made was using watercolor on watercolor paper and I made a bunch of squiggles leaving white space in between.
As I thought about the design of these flowers I thought it might look better to have the small detail pieces in a solid color so they would stand out better so I just swooshed some watercolor in different colors on a piece of watercolor paper.
My first flowers were seriously that simple and I love how they turned out!
I’ll be back with more ideas soon….
coming soon….
